How to get your Jávea business on Google Maps
12 September 2026
When somebody in Jávea searches for "restaurante cerca de mí" or "plumber Javea", the first thing they see is a map with three businesses on it. Being in that box matters more for a local business than almost anything else you can do online — and it is free.
Step 1: claim your profile
Go to business.google.com and search for your business name. If a listing already exists — Google often creates them automatically — claim it. If not, create one. Google will verify you own it, usually by video, phone or a postcard to your address.
Step 2: fill in everything
Incomplete profiles rank badly. Make sure you have:
- Your exact business name, address and phone number, written the same way as on your website.
- The correct category. This is the single biggest ranking factor — "Italian restaurant" behaves very differently from "restaurant".
- Real opening hours, including holidays. Wrong hours lose you customers and damage your ranking.
- A link to your website.
- Ten or more genuine photos. Outside, inside, your team, your work.
Step 3: reviews
Reviews are the difference between appearing third and appearing first. Ask happy customers directly, in person, while they are still with you. Google gives you a short review link in your dashboard — put it on a card, in your email signature, or on a small QR code at the counter. Reply to every review, good or bad, in the language it was written in.
Step 4: post and keep it alive
Profiles that are updated outrank profiles that sit still. A short post once or twice a month — a new dish, a finished job, seasonal hours — is enough to signal that you are active.
Step 5: make your website agree with your profile
Your name, address and phone number must match exactly between your website, your Google profile and any local directory you appear in. Mismatches confuse Google and split your credibility across several half-versions of your business.
This is genuinely something you can do yourself in an afternoon. If you would rather someone set it up properly and connect it to your website, that is part of what we do for businesses in Jávea, Dénia, Moraira and the surrounding towns.
